AMP Version 1.4 is Out!
We are pleased to announce the release of AMP version 1.4!
This version includes two exciting new modules as well as a LOT of quality of life improvements to your user profile and our awards module.
The biggest new feature in this release is the Waivers module!
The AMP Team and the Ansteorra Waiver Secretary are pleased to introduce waiver submissions through AMP as part of a gradual rollout. This module will now allow Local Warranted Officers to use AMP to upload waivers directly to the waiver secretary from desktop or mobile. Snap a pic of the waivers at your practice, upload it, and you’re done! To ensure a smooth transition, the traditional email method will remain available for at least the next six months. Seneschals and other Local Warranted Officers are welcome to begin using the AMP platform at their convenience, though it is not yet mandatory. This will help us streamline and improve how we keep track of waivers and will help us simplify monthly reporting for Seneschals.
In support of the Waivers module, this release also includes an initial rollout of the Gatherings module!
The Gatherings module is necessary to support uploading waivers for events and practices, but it is being piloted as a way to manage and share events. This includes support for public landing pages, staff management, light weight event scheduling, and many other features. It is still a pilot for use cases outside of waiver management but it can do a lot today! We encourage you all to check out the new tab in your menu, see the upcoming Gatherings in AMP, and start “kicking the tires”.
Other features in this release are enhancing things behind the scenes.
These include: improved data grid filtering, improved dropdown structure, comprehensive documentation for office reporting structure, additional member privacy controls for the new modules, improved audit logging for data access, an automatic “age-up” process for youth accounts, and an easy-to-view changelog so you can get a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes.

Summer Crown List Registration 2025
We would like to invite everyone to our summer crown tournament to be held June 7th, 2025. All entrances must send a letter of intent to TRM@crown.ansteorra.org and fill out the registration form
Crown format: The initial fights will be round robin format with 4 pools of fighters. All pools will be chosen at random by the fighters during the procession. These fights will be a single point, bring your best. The top 2 of each pool will advance to the next round.
The Round of 8 fighters will be random pairings, best 2 of 3 with the weapon style being a bastard sword between 4 and 5 feet in length. Butt spikes and thrusting tips are allowed.
The Round of 4 fighters will be random pairings, best 2 of 3 with the weapon style being a glaive between 6 and 7.5 feet in length. Butt spikes and thrusting tips are allowed.
For these rounds side arms will be prohibited.
The finals will be best 3 of 5 and fighters choice.

It has been our fondest wish to be Crown again at Gulf Wars. To see our kingdom shine on the fields of combat, the halls of artistry, and the fellowship of camps. We are delighted to say that you delivered!
What a truly glorious war. Ansteorra outserved, outfought, and out-everythinged any other kingdom there. While it’s true that a few war points might not have gone our way, the might of Ansteorra, with the strength of her allies, carried us through to a resounding tie (victory!). We are so proud.

We are very proud that our kingdom Worked so hard, Recruited so well, and Fought so vigorously.
We are proud that our kingdom was Hospitable; hosting activities in our Grand Tent every evening, and gracing many with s’mores, games, tacos, and cookies.
We are proud of our Artisans, who spent hours and hours working on their arts, and refining their displays and entrants.
We are proud of our Missileers, who created new championship tournaments out of nothing. They made fast, fun, and exciting competitions to test the mettle of champions in their area. The attending Royals were entertained and attentive throughout!
We are proud of our Combatants, who fought through heat and fatigue to secure many war points for their kingdom.
We are proud of all of you, and so phenomenally grateful that we got to go along with each of you on this wonderful Gulf Wars XXXIII.

Announcing the New Baron and Baroness of Eldern Hills!
Greetings to the Populace of Ansteorra! Pray heed this announcement from Their Royal Majesties, Jean Paul and Gilyan III.
We would like to announce that Abe no Saburou Sadasuke and Abe no Murasaki have been selected as the next territorial nobility for the Barony of the Eldern Hills.
They will be installed at this year’s Samhain by their Serene Highnesses Vindheim.
We look forward to seeing the southern portion of our kingdom on that weekend at Seawinds 40th anniversary.

Announcement of Change of Title from Hospitaler to Chatelaine
Greetings unto the Populace of the Stellar Kingdom of Ansteorra,
For some time the SCA has been changing over from usage of the term “Hospitaler” to that of “Chatelaine” as the title used for recruitment and retention officers. Upon taking the office of Kingdom Hospitaler I was informed that it had been requested by Society that Ansteorra make the change to using “Chatelaine”. The majority of Kingdoms in the Knowne World have used this nomenclature for some time now and it was determined that it would be better to standardize to avoid confusion. With the support of the Crown and other Kingdom Officers I am beginning the process to move forward with these changes and bringing Ansteorra in line with the standardized use of “Chatelaine” across the SCA.
This process will take time as it entails changes to Kingdom Law, Kingdom Handbooks, websites, and nomenclature. Please support your local Chatelaines as they make these changes.

Virtual Round Table July 2023 – Volunteers Needed!
The July 2023 Ansteorra Round Table will be happening in less than two weeks!
Mark your calendars for July 15, 2023 from 9am to 6pm!
This event will be hosted virtually using Google Meetings. The schedule is posted online and we are looking for volunteers to be Hosts for our various meeting rooms.
Hosts will be responsible for monitoring the room, keeping an eye on chat, responding to disturbances (muting mics, kicking people if necessary, etc). We’ll help you log into the Host account and you’ll have support during the day from me as the Round Table Tech Lead.
If you’re interested in helping our teachers and officers, please sign up! Complete instructions will be provided to volunteers later this week via email.

Updates to Ansteorra Law – From the Coronation of Gabriel III and Sonja III
Read below for a message to the Populace of Ansteorra from our Kingdom Seneschal.
These laws were read into the premier court of Gabriel III and Sonja III at Coronation held on January 14, 2023. Please note, the law changes in Article IV, Section 3 (currently Perpetual Events) and Article IV, Section 4 (currently Event Limits) are suspended until further discussions can occur
- Article II, Section 2, Subsection 1, A.3 – removed “the Crown or by” and added “and confirmed by the Crown” at the end
- Article II, Section 3, Subsection 1, A – added “6. All officers are required to maintain confidentiality of privileged information known to the office. Breach of confidentiality is cause to refer the officer to Crown and corresponding superior officer, with notification to Kingdom Seneschal, for immediate removal from office as a just cause, and possible sanctions based on severity.”
- Article II, Corrected “Rights and Duties of the Pers and Nobility” to be a section and renumbered all subsequent sections
- Article II, Section 14 (previous Section 13), Changed wording to read “The royal family consists of those who have served as Sovereign or Consort, or as Principality Sovereign or Consort.”
- Article II, Section 16 (previous Section 15), Subsection 1, A. 3 Added “d. To give feedback on potential Regional officers, who will be responsible for appointing local officers within their lands, prior to appointment”
- Article III, Section 1, Added “C. To know the identity of and have opportunity to give feedback on candidates for local positions within the branch in which they reside.
