Password Resets Can Be a Pain. We now have New Options to Help!

Good afternoon from the Kingdom Webminister of Ansteorra!

In collaboration with the Crown, our Kingdom Seneschal, Kingdom Server Admin, I am happy to announce that we configured a new way to reset passwords in Ansteorra. Guidance for Password Resets will be available in the Ansteorra Library.

Starting today, the following officers will have the option to reset passwords for users in the email domain:

What this means for Local Seneschals and Great Officers:

  1. You now have the OPTION to reset passwords for users in your domain.
  2. If you choose to use this option, you MUST read and understand the linked guidance for password resets.  The guidance should be pretty straightforward, but does outline the best security practices for our Organization as well as guidance on WHEN you should reset a password and HOW. 
  3. You will have an email from Kingdom Webminister with more detail and links to the training.

How you can always request a password reset:

  1. As as an officer you have always had two ways to request a password reset
    • a. Contact Server Admin
    • b. Contact Kingdom Webminister

The new option to request a password reset:

  1. As a Local Officer, you now have THE OPTION to request a password reset from your Local Seneschal.
    • They are NOT required to do this, so you may be redirected to Server Admin or KWeb. This is totally okay.
  2. As a Kingdom Deputy, you now have THE OPTION to request a password reset from your upline Kingdom Officer.
    • They are NOT required to do this, so you may be redirected to Server Admin or KWeb. This is totally okay.

Our hope with this change is that it will help reduce the time it takes to get a new officer into their account and that it will reduce wait times for resets for lost passwords.
