Announcing Kingdom A&S Changes…
Greetings Ansteorra, The new judging sheets still need additional changes and approvals to be rolled out to the four kingdoms. We do not feel confident about testing them at this time. We will be continuing with the standard Ansteorra judging sheets that are posted at Kingdom or Interkingdom Arts & Sciences – Ansteorra Arts and Sciences. We will be using the 50 point scale not the 30 point scale.
Due to this change, we will be extending the submission deadline for Static and Performance to Midnight September 9th, the Tuesday before the competition. We will just need a short writeup on the entry and a copy of your works cited. We do still need signup by the 31st of August, 2025 to ensure table arrangements. The link is https://forms.gle/ChdzVoA78pkMvbou9 . Research Papers and Experimental Archaeology papers will still be due the 31st of August, the usual two weeks before the competition. Summer Crown List Registration 2025
We would like to invite everyone to our summer crown tournament to be held June 7th, 2025. All entrances must send a letter of intent to TRM@crown.ansteorra.org and fill out the registration form
Crown format: The initial fights will be round robin format with 4 pools of fighters. All pools will be chosen at random by the fighters during the procession. These fights will be a single point, bring your best. The top 2 of each pool will advance to the next round.
The Round of 8 fighters will be random pairings, best 2 of 3 with the weapon style being a bastard sword between 4 and 5 feet in length. Butt spikes and thrusting tips are allowed.
The Round of 4 fighters will be random pairings, best 2 of 3 with the weapon style being a glaive between 6 and 7.5 feet in length. Butt spikes and thrusting tips are allowed.
For these rounds side arms will be prohibited.
The finals will be best 3 of 5 and fighters choice.

Gulf Wars Muster Form: Fill it out Today!
Ansteorra Muster for Gulf Wars!
As mentioned in the State of the Kingdom meeting at Round Table on Saturday, the Crown has set up a Gulf Wars Muster form. This is to collect information about those going to Gulf Wars to help several aspects of Ansteorra at Gulf Wars: camping in Ansteorra, planning for martial activities, and giving of gifts!
This muster should be completed *after* you have pre-registered for Gulf Wars. If you have not pre-registered yet, and plan on attending, please go to https://gulfwars.org/registration/ and pre-register for war. Pre-registered attendees is how land is allotted to each group for camping space, so it is important that you pre-register if you are able.
The Crown is pleased to provide every Ansteorran who attends Gulf Wars a gift of appreciation for making the journey and spending your valuable time with us. We have initiated a kingdom-wide project to make Ansteorran coifs for every person from Ansteorra at Gulf War. If you pre-register for war, *and* complete this muster form before March 1, your coif will have your name on it. There will be 500 or so others, so you will want your name on yours!

Winter Crown 2024 – Approved Combatants and Consorts

While sad to miss out on a fun event that has been in the planning stages since May, I applaud the Autocrats and their Excellencies for making tough decisions that keep the welfare of the populace in mind, and cancel the Vindheim Missile Academy II.
I look forward to our re-scheduled date for VMA-II.
For those of you who were looking to enter the first round of Royal Hunter at VMA, the 6 slots allocated to VMA for the first round will be moved to War of the Rams.

Now Accepting Bids for Laurels Prize Tournament February 2025
Greetings unto the populace of the most Stellar Kingdom of Ansteorra!
We are now seeking and accepting bids for Laurels Prize Tournament to be held on February 8, 2025.
Bids must be in no later than August 20th, 2024
Wants:
- An indoor hall large enough to hold 30 six-foot tables with two chairs on each side. Should include any restrictions on table placement/fire code, restriction on wall use/hanging in the bid.
- Accessible electricity for at least 10 tables. Should include the location of all outlets and permission to tape down cords with non-marring tape for safety in the bid.
- A map of the room or rooms with their dimensions for the main display area showing door locations, outlet placements and any other items that need to be considered for space (pianos, stages, scaffolding, etc).
- Enough room between rows to accommodate anyone with mobility issues. 6′ minimum with 8′ as ideal to account better for chairs.
- An registration table that will be stationary for the entire event with access to electricity.
- An area designated for performance arts, which can be a separate room.
- A room, separate from the royal room, for the Laurels to review resources, consult on displays, have lunch, and for any circles if need be.
Photos of the site and all rooms should be included, along with room measurements.
We will need information on the site you plan to use and the facilities available, including cost, hours available, restrictions, parking and parking restrictions, accessibility plan, or anything else that we need to know to make the best decision for the event.
Please remember that we now also require children’s activities and a quiet space at all Kingdom level events.
Please submit official bids (available on the kingdom Exchequer webpage), Blackstar ad, event ad checklist for Blackstar ad, and photos of the site. All documents must be signed. Incomplete bids will not be considered.

- A space that can be made private to use as a Royal Room
- A space that can be made private for potential circles (hold 40-50 seated people)

We will need information on the site you plan to use and the facilities available, including cost, hours available, restrictions, parking and parking restrictions, accessibility, or anything else that we need to know to make the best decision for the event. Please remember that we now also require children’s activities and a quiet space at all Kingdom level events.
