Summer ’26 Crown Tournament: Register by Friday, June 5th!
Greetings Ansteorra,
The format for the Summer Crown Tournament, hosted by the Shire of Adlersruhe on June 13th will be:
- Single elimination
- 1st Round will be a Precedence Challenge Up
- Winner of 2 out of 3 bouts advances
- Every fighter may bring their weapon of choice for each bout
- Double kills will be refought until there is a clear victor
Want to enter the tournament?
In order to enter the tournament, you and your Consort will need to do the following no later than June 5th, 2026:
- Submit a letter of Intent by email to trm@crown.ansteorra.org no later than June 5th, 2026.
- Completion of the Registration form by both entrant and Consort. Please use the link below to complete the registration form.

AMP Version 1.4 is Out!
We are pleased to announce the release of AMP version 1.4!
This version includes two exciting new modules as well as a LOT of quality of life improvements to your user profile and our awards module.
The biggest new feature in this release is the Waivers module!
The AMP Team and the Ansteorra Waiver Secretary are pleased to introduce waiver submissions through AMP as part of a gradual rollout. This module will now allow Local Warranted Officers to use AMP to upload waivers directly to the waiver secretary from desktop or mobile. Snap a pic of the waivers at your practice, upload it, and you’re done! To ensure a smooth transition, the traditional email method will remain available for at least the next six months. Seneschals and other Local Warranted Officers are welcome to begin using the AMP platform at their convenience, though it is not yet mandatory. This will help us streamline and improve how we keep track of waivers and will help us simplify monthly reporting for Seneschals.
In support of the Waivers module, this release also includes an initial rollout of the Gatherings module!
The Gatherings module is necessary to support uploading waivers for events and practices, but it is being piloted as a way to manage and share events. This includes support for public landing pages, staff management, light weight event scheduling, and many other features. It is still a pilot for use cases outside of waiver management but it can do a lot today! We encourage you all to check out the new tab in your menu, see the upcoming Gatherings in AMP, and start “kicking the tires”.
Other features in this release are enhancing things behind the scenes.
These include: improved data grid filtering, improved dropdown structure, comprehensive documentation for office reporting structure, additional member privacy controls for the new modules, improved audit logging for data access, an automatic “age-up” process for youth accounts, and an easy-to-view changelog so you can get a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes.

Announcing Kingdom A&S Changes…
Greetings Ansteorra, The new judging sheets still need additional changes and approvals to be rolled out to the four kingdoms. We do not feel confident about testing them at this time. We will be continuing with the standard Ansteorra judging sheets that are posted at Kingdom or Interkingdom Arts & Sciences – Ansteorra Arts and Sciences. We will be using the 50 point scale not the 30 point scale.
Due to this change, we will be extending the submission deadline for Static and Performance to Midnight September 9th, the Tuesday before the competition. We will just need a short writeup on the entry and a copy of your works cited. We do still need signup by the 31st of August, 2025 to ensure table arrangements. Help with Kingdom Trailer Wrap
Ansteorra! Your kingdom needs your help! The new trailer needs to be as bright, helpful, and efficient on the outside just like it is on the inside! We need a design, or at least pictures, to get wrapped on the outside of the trailer. While the company that installs the wrap can do the final design to match the size of the trailer, we need to have a Good Idea for them to work from and the photos and graphics to choose. This means everyone can help with this project, not just graphic designers!
Some design parameters are (but not limited to):
- It should be super bright and stand out at a distance. You should be able to see it a mile away!
- Obviously Ansteorran. Gold and blackstars.
- Should incorporate the heraldry of our kingdom and its groups. Include the kingdom achievement.
- Should have the most awesome pictures of the activities listed!
- QR codes to a special landing website to record how many hits come from the trailer. (The Kingdom Webminister has already created this!)
There are two parts to this request:
1. If you have an idea of what you want the outside of the kingdom trailer to look like, please draw it up and send it via email to gilyanclonmacnoise@gmail.com. This doesn’t have to be a final version, ready for the company to install, but it should be a good representation from which a professional graphic designer can build the final version. It also doesn’t need to be a design for all four sides of the trailer. If you have a brilliant idea for the front or back, send in just that idea.
2. If you have photos you think should be included on the outside of the trailer as an advertisement of the SCA and specifically the Kingdom of Ansteorra, post them here. If you would prefer to send links to specific photos, you can send them to gilyanclonmacnoise@gmail.com. This is the part that *everyone* can help with! There are way too many amazing photographers who take way too many thousands of photos for one or twenty people to comb through and find the perfect ones. We need the entire populace of Ansteorra to help us find those brilliant photos! Please make sure to include the photographer’s name for each photo as we will need to contact them for a photo release (and to also be thoughtful and credit other people’s work!).
Lastly – the bribes! Anyone who submits a design idea that gets used in the final design will receive, by the end of the year, two dozen cookies made by me.
Ideas and photos will be due Friday, June 6 at 10pm so we can get the trailer wrapped and looking dramatically beautiful for its trip across several states to Pennsic War!
Summer Crown List Registration 2025
We would like to invite everyone to our summer crown tournament to be held June 7th, 2025. All entrances must send a letter of intent to TRM@crown.ansteorra.org and fill out the registration form
Crown format: The initial fights will be round robin format with 4 pools of fighters. All pools will be chosen at random by the fighters during the procession. These fights will be a single point, bring your best. The top 2 of each pool will advance to the next round.
The Round of 8 fighters will be random pairings, best 2 of 3 with the weapon style being a bastard sword between 4 and 5 feet in length. Butt spikes and thrusting tips are allowed.
The Round of 4 fighters will be random pairings, best 2 of 3 with the weapon style being a glaive between 6 and 7.5 feet in length. Butt spikes and thrusting tips are allowed.
For these rounds side arms will be prohibited.
The finals will be best 3 of 5 and fighters choice.

AMP Integration with Gulf War Check in App
Ansteorra Management Portal is going to make Marshals Point even easier to get through with an integration that will allow Gulf Wars tablet app to look up member authorizations.
As privacy is a constant concern the feature is extremely limited to only allowing the Gulf War app to lookup a list of current authorizations based on a members AMP email address from now till 1 week after Gulf War (at which point the integration will be disabled).
We also want you to have the choice to share or not to share. So if you do not want Gulf War to be able to find your authorizations (which will mean you will need to take your authorization card to Marshals Point) then you can Opt out by turning off the integration for your account using the switch added to the Authorizations Tab on your AMP profile.

Gulf Wars Muster
Greetings Ansteorra,
As I hope many are aware, opening ceremonies at Gulf Wars have been moved up to Sunday this year, in an attempt to have the war activities start after opening ceremonies, as opposed to two days subsequent. The change, while having many upsides, also has a few downsides; one being that we will not be doing a mounted procession from the stables.
Instead, we are going to do a walking procession starting from the Ansteorran gates, down towards the battlefield and the castle, and into the start of the Ceremonies. We would like to invite the entire kingdom to join us, and walk with your local group to the field. Bring your banners, your drums, and your high spirits as we open the best, and friendliest, war in the Known World.
We will muster at Noon on Sunday at the Ansteorran gates and begin our march to the castle at 12:40pm. Please join us for a wonderful start to Gulf Wars!

Gulf Wars Muster Form: Fill it out Today!
Ansteorra Muster for Gulf Wars!
As mentioned in the State of the Kingdom meeting at Round Table on Saturday, the Crown has set up a Gulf Wars Muster form. This is to collect information about those going to Gulf Wars to help several aspects of Ansteorra at Gulf Wars: camping in Ansteorra, planning for martial activities, and giving of gifts!
This muster should be completed *after* you have pre-registered for Gulf Wars. If you have not pre-registered yet, and plan on attending, please go to https://gulfwars.org/registration/ and pre-register for war. Pre-registered attendees is how land is allotted to each group for camping space, so it is important that you pre-register if you are able.
The Crown is pleased to provide every Ansteorran who attends Gulf Wars a gift of appreciation for making the journey and spending your valuable time with us. We have initiated a kingdom-wide project to make Ansteorran coifs for every person from Ansteorra at Gulf War. If you pre-register for war, *and* complete this muster form before March 1, your coif will have your name on it. There will be 500 or so others, so you will want your name on yours!
