1) Greetings from the new Kingdom Webminister
Hi! I am Hersirkona kolfinna inn kyrra Otarsdottir, and as of April 30th this year I am now the Kingdom Webminister of Ansteorra. I have been in communication and collab with my predecessor Honorable Asa, who cared for our Webministry Department with good hands during their tenure — Thank you, Asa!! I am very excited to step into this role and do what I can to support our Crown, Principality, Officers, and Populace of Ansteorra.
For folks who don’t know me, my Ansteorra wiki page is up-to-date, and I’m very open to receiving questions, having a chat, and otherwise making myself available in this role.

3) AMP features you should know about
There are some important AMP features that everyone in the Kingdom should know about that I want to highlight
- Gatherings and waivers in AMP
- Local Seneschals should be using AMP to create Gatherings for any activity that might require waivers.
- Local Officers can and should use AMP to upload waivers in AMP for gatherings — from Marshals to Exchequers, every Warranted Local Officer can upload waivers from your activities.
- After the July Round Table this will become the mandatory process for uploading waivers.
- Automatic officer tables on your local websites
- Your Local Group Website has been updated!! Every local group website now has access to a table called “AMP – Group Name”.
- This table is identical to the officers table you’ll find if you visit https://ansteorra.org/officers, and sources automatically from AMP.
- If your local officers page doesn’t yet show this Table, contact me and your Local Webminister or Seneschal and I’ll help you get that added.
4) Round Table Reminders
We are a month and a half away from Round Table, and I will be coordinating the tech behind the scenes. However, I’m always looking for folks who want to try out the job of Tech Lead! Being Tech Lead for Round Table is a time-boxed job and means doing the up-front config for the conference, being available and in touch w/ the class coordinator, and coordinating volunteers before and during the event. I can help with all of that and would happily mentor anyone who is interested.

AMP Version 1.4 is Out!
We are pleased to announce the release of AMP version 1.4!
This version includes two exciting new modules as well as a LOT of quality of life improvements to your user profile and our awards module.
The biggest new feature in this release is the Waivers module!
The AMP Team and the Ansteorra Waiver Secretary are pleased to introduce waiver submissions through AMP as part of a gradual rollout. This module will now allow Local Warranted Officers to use AMP to upload waivers directly to the waiver secretary from desktop or mobile. Snap a pic of the waivers at your practice, upload it, and you’re done! To ensure a smooth transition, the traditional email method will remain available for at least the next six months. Seneschals and other Local Warranted Officers are welcome to begin using the AMP platform at their convenience, though it is not yet mandatory. This will help us streamline and improve how we keep track of waivers and will help us simplify monthly reporting for Seneschals.
In support of the Waivers module, this release also includes an initial rollout of the Gatherings module!
The Gatherings module is necessary to support uploading waivers for events and practices, but it is being piloted as a way to manage and share events. This includes support for public landing pages, staff management, light weight event scheduling, and many other features. It is still a pilot for use cases outside of waiver management but it can do a lot today! We encourage you all to check out the new tab in your menu, see the upcoming Gatherings in AMP, and start “kicking the tires”.
Other features in this release are enhancing things behind the scenes.
These include: improved data grid filtering, improved dropdown structure, comprehensive documentation for office reporting structure, additional member privacy controls for the new modules, improved audit logging for data access, an automatic “age-up” process for youth accounts, and an easy-to-view changelog so you can get a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes.

AMP Integration with Gulf War Check in App
Ansteorra Management Portal is going to make Marshals Point even easier to get through with an integration that will allow Gulf Wars tablet app to look up member authorizations.
As privacy is a constant concern the feature is extremely limited to only allowing the Gulf War app to lookup a list of current authorizations based on a members AMP email address from now till 1 week after Gulf War (at which point the integration will be disabled).
We also want you to have the choice to share or not to share. So if you do not want Gulf War to be able to find your authorizations (which will mean you will need to take your authorization card to Marshals Point) then you can Opt out by turning off the integration for your account using the switch added to the Authorizations Tab on your AMP profile.

- Gulf Wars App can make an API call (computer to computer) with an authorization token that is only known by the Gulf Wars App team and a single members AMP email address. If the member is located and they have not turned off sharing then the above data is shared and nothing else

It is time for another exciting update to the Ansteorra Management Portal (AMP)! We are going to release the Warranting Module at Round Table on January 18th, 2025, and the Crown and Great Officers plan to use it to generate and approve Officer warrants.
The Short Summary:
All officers in Ansteorra need to create and/or update their AMP account BEFORE Round Table on the 18th of January in order to be warranted and continue the great service you do.
Background:
A huge effort by the Crown of Ansteorra, the developers of AMP, and me has been underway so we can release a new module in AMP: Warranting. The goal of this module is to address the ongoing issues our Kingdom has seen when it comes to the paperwork and visibility of approving individuals for a position, generating warrant rosters, following Society warranting policies, and approving warrants. We will begin to do this by using AMP to standardize the information we require from officers and streamline the roster-generation and signing process. We are on track to release the module by the 18th of Jan 2025 so we can complete the semi-annual Round Table Warranting process entirely through AMP. This means that in addition to using AMP to submit award recs and track marshal authorizations, you will soon be able to use your AMP account to track your record of service, and our Great Officers will be able to use AMP to generate our warranting rosters and submit them to the Crown for approval.
What is a “Warrant”?
A warrant is time-bound authorization of a delegation of authority to an individual, generated by an appropriate Great Officer and approved by the Crown. Per Section VII.J. of Society policy, an individual cannot receive a warrant unless they provide the following information: modern name, Society name, personal email address, mailing address, phone number, membership number, membership expiration date. We also ask for birth month and year so we can verify youth vs adults. When a warrant is approved for an individual, that gives them the authority needed to fulfill the duties of their office.
What the semi-annual warranting process will look like now:
- All officers must create/update a personal user account in AMP
- for this first-time, Kingdom Webminister and team will do manual assignment of officers to their current roles in the system
- Great Officers will use AMP to generate and review a roster of officers in their Department (Webministery, Seneschallate, etc)
- Great Officers will use AMP to submit that roster to the Crown for approval
- Each member of the Crown will use AMP to review and approve each roster and warrant individuals until the next Round Table
- Individual officers will receive an email notification to their AMP user email that their warrant has been approved
What the new warranting process will look like when someone takes a new office:
- Populace members apply for offices using the same form as always
- (new) Applicants should create/update their user account in AMP
- Great Officers confer with local and regional officers as usual to decide who to appoint for a position
- (new) Great Officers will use AMP to assign the individual to the office
- this will appear on the user’s account
- the user will get an email notifying them that they’ve been appointed
- a warrant will automatically be generated and sent to the Crown for approval
- the timeframe of the warrant will extend until the next Round Table
- (new) the Crown will review and approve the warrant via AMP
- the user will get an email notification when the warrant is approved
Actions For Each Officer in Ansteorra:
- If you don’t already have an account in AMP, you need to create an account in AMP ASAP using a personal email address by visiting https://amp.ansteorra.org.This account will be attached to you personally and will allow you to have an ongoing record of your officer positions, term timelines, and more.
- If you already have an account in AMP, please log in and ensure that your personal information is correct.
- In order to get warranted on the 18th, your profile must include the following details: modern name, Society name, personal email address, mailing address, phone number, birth month & year (so we can verify youth vs adult), membership number, membership expiration date. This is information we are required to collect by Society, and you can view the policy here in Section VII.J..
- If your membership expires before the next Round Table (07/19/2025), you will need to extend it with a renewal at https://sca.app.neoncrm.com/login.
- If your membership info is not in your AMP profile, send a copy of your membership card to secretary@marshal.ansteorra.org so it can be verified and added to your account.
Final Words:
The Crown, The Heirs, our developers, and I all understand that this is a BIG change for the Kingdom. But we truly believe that this will create a better experience for you as an officer, a cleaner process for warranting, and lay the groundwork for future improvements to further streamline the officer application process, officer reporting, and more.
