About Arts & Sciences
The arts and sciences covers a vast array of activities in the SCA and give one the opportunity to learn about the crafts, skills and technologies of the pre-17th century world through research and the sharing of knowledge. This is seen not only through arts and sciences competitions, but also all around you at an event – the armour and clothing being worn, music and dancing, feasting, scrolls and regalia given at court, a token of largesse given for an inspiring deed, and so much more! The arts and sciences really do offer a little something for everyone.
How to Participate
We offer a monthly arts and sciences class as well as various guild meetings and more casual arts and science gatherings. The local scribal guild has members from both the Barony of Namron and the Barony of Wiesenfeuer and meets weekly. Namron’s Minister of Arts & Sciences offers Open A&S weekly on Mondays (except for holidays and immediately before and after any holidays) alongside any planned classes. Expect 1 class per month and 1 scribal night per month within these Mondays. Specific schedule pending. There will always be room for open A&S work alongside any planned classes and scribal nights. A&S nights will be held at Norman Central Library from 6:00 – 8:30pm.
