Current Classes and Descriptions

Championship Competitions:

In addition to choosing a bardic and A&S Champion Their Excellencies will be giving out prizes to people who are new to entering bardic and A&S competitions who impress them.   We consider someone who is new to have not entered more than 5 competitions.  We also strongly encourage youth to enter.

We encourage entrants to notify us of their intent to compete, so we can reserve enough time and space. Their Excellencies truly enjoy the arts and are looking forward to the competitions.  For questions you may notify the current Bardic champion HL Biatrichi Canzionari Di Palermo or Their Excellencies Krag and Hennessey.

Arts & Sciences Championship

Their Excellencies will also be choosing an A&S Champion.  Entries must have minimum documentation to include who, what, when, where, and how as applicable.   Who used the item, what is it and what was it used for, what original materials and methods would have been used, where could this item be found, and how did you make it.  A short description (2-3 sentences in each area) is all that is needed. Their Excellencies enjoy all areas in the Arts and Sciences.  In addition to the brief documentation, each entrant will be given the opportunity to discuss their entry with Their Excellencies.  This competition has no specific theme, but Their Excellencies enjoy seeing artists venture outside their comfort zone.  If you choose to do a culinary entry, please be aware that HE Krag has a mild allergy to sage (this includes poultry seasoning) and a severe allergy to mangos.

Bardic Championship

Their Excellencies of the Loch are looking for a Bardic Champion who will represent them and the Barony in the bardic arts.  The competition will be a minimum of two rounds with a potential third round depending on the number of entrants. Therefore, it is recommended that you have three entries prepared.  Although not required, we suggest variety in the styles of the three pieces.  Documentation is suggested but not required.  Some of their favorite pieces have been humorous songs and stories, stringed instruments, stories and songs with history and original pieces.
