Running an Information Point
The Information Point is created specifically to give information to non-SCA people who approach an event. Due to the number of sites that we are currently sharing with other groups and organizations, this Information Point will become increasingly important as time passes. It’s important to NOT use SCA words like Hospitaler, Troll, Newcomers, or anything else that might confuse people.
Here is a recommended list of what you will need to have a successful Information Point:
Small Event- staffed as possible.
- table, tablecloth, table sign(says INFORMATION), loaner gear sign-up sheet, plastic storage bin
- local group map and info postcards approx. 50
- laminated schedule of the day and site map
- 5 tabards or tunics in various sizes with belts
Medium event- staffed when gate is open, 1 person minimum
- table, tablecloth, table sign,loaner gear sign-up sheet, plastic storage bin
- printed schedule of events
- local group map and info postcards approx. 100
- laminated site map
- 3-5 sets of feast gear, 5 tabards, 5 dresses, kids outfits
Large Event- staffed when gate is open, 2 people minimum
- table, tablecloth, table sign,loaner gear sign-up sheet, plastic storage bin
- changing area with mirror and banner for photobooth
- printed schedule of events
- multiple groups map and info postcards approx. 100
- laminated site map
- small, medium, and large clothing racks
- loaner feast gear
