**AS WE COME OUT OF COVID-19 LOCKDOWN WE ARE STARTING TO REOPEN OUR IN PERSON EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES!

Our fighter practice has returned to in person! YEAH!

** In May, our monthly populace meeting will return to in person at the San Marcos Public Library. We will be gathering in the meeting room (to the left just inside outer doors) at 6pm for a return of our monthly pot luck dinner. Meeting should start around 7pm and will close promptly at 8pm when the library closes. We plan to have the meeting also linked to a zoom session for those folks who are unable to attend in person at this time.

We still have many online meetings and activities every month, from a bi-weekly A&S Chat on Sundays to event planning meetings etc.

CHECK OUT THE SHIRE’S FACEBOOK PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND DETAILS. STAY SAFE AND REMEMBER,  ‘WASH YE HANDS!’**

Welcome to the Shire of Ffynnon Gath, a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism!

The lands of the Shire include the areas surrounding the cities of: San Marcos, Wimberley, New Braunfels, Gonzales, Kyle, Buda, Seguin, Driftwood, Fischer, Harwood, Kingsbury, Lockhart, Luling, Martindale, Spring Branch, Maxwell, and Blanco, Texas. Ffynnon Gath is in the Southern Region of the Kingdom of Ansteorra, which encompasses the states of Oklahoma and Texas. The SCA, Inc. is an international non-profit organization comprised of 19 kingdoms worldwide.

The SCA is an organization dedicated to the study and recreation of the Medieval Ages before the year 1700 A.D. Our fighters construct their own armor, recreate both armored and rapier fighting, and construct their own arrows for medieval archery. Members also sew their own clothing, compose songs and dance routines, brew beer, mead, and wine, weave tapestries, paint illuminations and practice various other arts and sciences. Basically any function of a medieval society such as: woodworking, black-smithing, story telling, heraldry, cooking, jewelry making, etc. is done by someone in the SCA!

You don’t need to have period clothing or a name/persona picked out to play, nor do you need to be a member. Just contact the local Seneschal, and he will get you started or answer any questions.
