Seneschal

The Seneschal is the ‘group president’ or business manager for the group. They are the legal SCA representative. In addition, they manage the other officers to ensure everyone can have quality programs. They are responsible for:
  • Keeping accurate records
  • Reporting to the higher level Seneschal office
  • Reporting to the populace, for budgeting, and for approving expenses

Exchequer

The Exchequer, also known as the Reeve or the Treasurer, manages the money for the group. They are responsible for
  • Keeping accurate records of Canton transactions
  • Reporting to the higher level Exchequer office
  • Reporting to the populace, for budgeting, and for approving expenses

Hospitaler

It is the job of the Hospitaler to answer any questions that a newcomer has about the SCA. They are responsible for introducing new people to the many different ways of playing in the Society, whether it is heraldic research or service, crafts or courtly dancing, cooking or combat. A Hospitaler is also the person that a newcomer goes to when they need something to wear until they are able to make or purchase their own SCA garb. The Hospitaler is responsible for:
  • Working with Seneschal to promote recruiting of new members
  • Greeting potential members
  • Setting up recruiting opportunities
  • Following up on contacts
  • Reporting to higher level Hospitalers
  • Reporting to the populace

Herald

The Herald manages and encourages the use of period names and devices for the group. They are responsible for:
  • Helping people choose appropriate names for the place and time of their persona in the SCA
  • Choosing devices and badges that can be displayed and are in keeping with period practices
  • Keeping accurate records of name and device submissions to the Kingdom
  • Reporting to higher level Heralds
  • Reporting to the populace
  • Organizing court, and speaking loudly and understandably so all can hear court proceedings

Chronicler

The Chronicler publishes a newsletter for the group. He or she is responsible for:
  • Collecting articles and other information
  • Creating both hard copy and online versions of the newsletter
  • Reporting to higher level Chroniclers
  • Reporting to the populace.

Knight Marshal

The Knight Marshal organizes the Chivalric efforts, also known as heavy weapons fighting, for the group. The number one job of the Knight Marshal in charge of a practice is to keep things safe by understanding, teaching, and enforcing the rules of SCA Chivalric combat. The Knight Marshal responsibilities also include:
  • Running local practices
  • Organize local mini-tournaments
  • Teaching Chivalric combat
  • Keeping track of and maintaining the loaner Chivalric combat equipment
  • Generating an annual budget estimate for this office
  • Keeping accurate records of our practices, tournaments, and events
  • Reporting to higher the next level (baronial) Chivalric Marshals
  • Reporting the status of Chivalric combat to the populace
  • Setting up and running tournaments at one of our local events
  • Bringing and keep track of the loaner Chivalric combat equipment

Rapier Marshal

The Rapier Marshal organizes rapier combat also known as light weapons fighting for the group, also sometimes called swashbuckling. Safety: The number one job of the Rapier Marshal in charge of a practice is keeping things safe by understanding, teaching, and enforcing the rules of SCA Rapier combat. The Rapier Marshal’s responsibilities also include:
  • Running local practices
  • Organizing local mini-tournaments
  • Teaching Rapier combat
  • Keeping track of and maintaining the loaner Rapier combat equipment
  • Generating an annual budget estimate for this office
  • Keeping accurate records of our practices, tournaments, and events
  • Reporting to the next higher level (Barony) Rapier Marshals
  • Reporting the status of Rapier combat to the populace
  • Setting up and running tournaments at our local events

Archery Marshal

The Archery Marshal organizes the target archery efforts for the group. The number one job of the archery marshal in charge of practice is always keeping things safe by enforcing the rules of SCA Archery. The Archery Marshal responsibilities also include:
  • Keep things safe by understanding, teaching, and enforcing the rules of target archery.
  • Running local practices
  • Organize local mini-tournaments
  • Teaching archery
  • Keeping track of and maintaining the baronial loaner archery equipment
  • Generate an annual budget estimate for this office
  • Keeping accurate records of our practices, tournaments, and events
  • Reporting to higher the next level (Central Regional) Archery Marshals
  • Reporting the status of archery to the populace
  • Setting up and running tournaments at our local events

Minister of Arts & Sciences

The Minister of Arts and Sciences facilitates the study and acquiring of skills that were used during the Middle Ages. They are responsible for:
  • Organizing periodic meetings, classes, and competitions in the Canton
  • Reporting to higher level Ministers of Arts and Sciences
  • Reporting to the populace.

The Webminister creates and updates the web pages for the group. They are responsible for:
  • Building and maintaining web pages and databases
  • Reporting to higher level Webministers
  • Reporting to the populace
  • Keeping records of permissions to publish information.
