Summer ’26 Crown Tournament: Register by Friday, June 5th!
Greetings Ansteorra,
The format for the Summer Crown Tournament, hosted by the Shire of Adlersruhe on June 13th will be:
- Single elimination
- 1st Round will be a Precedence Challenge Up
- Winner of 2 out of 3 bouts advances
- Every fighter may bring their weapon of choice for each bout
- Double kills will be refought until there is a clear victor
Want to enter the tournament?
In order to enter the tournament, you and your Consort will need to do the following no later than June 5th, 2026:
- Submit a letter of Intent by email to trm@crown.ansteorra.org no later than June 5th, 2026.
- Completion of the Registration form by both entrant and Consort. Please use the link below to complete the registration form.

1) Greetings from the new Kingdom Webminister
Hi! I am Hersirkona kolfinna inn kyrra Otarsdottir, and as of April 30th this year I am now the Kingdom Webminister of Ansteorra. I have been in communication and collab with my predecessor Honorable Asa, who cared for our Webministry Department with good hands during their tenure — Thank you, Asa!! I am very excited to step into this role and do what I can to support our Crown, Principality, Officers, and Populace of Ansteorra.
For folks who don’t know me, my Ansteorra wiki page is up-to-date, and I’m very open to receiving questions, having a chat, and otherwise making myself available in this role.
2) AMP by the Numbers
AMP has been live for three full reigns now, and the AMP team wanted to highlight exciting data from that time period. Check out this slideshow below or view it as a PDF here to see how AMP has grown over time!
3) AMP features you should know about
There are some important AMP features that everyone in the Kingdom should know about that I want to highlight
- Gatherings and waivers in AMP
- Local Seneschals should be using AMP to create Gatherings for any activity that might require waivers.
- Local Officers can and should use AMP to upload waivers in AMP for gatherings — from Marshals to Exchequers, every Warranted Local Officer can upload waivers from your activities.
- After the July Round Table this will become the mandatory process for uploading waivers.
- Automatic officer tables on your local websites
- Your Local Group Website has been updated!! Every local group website now has access to a table called “AMP – Group Name”.
- This table is identical to the officers table you’ll find if you visit https://ansteorra.org/officers, and sources automatically from AMP.
- If your local officers page doesn’t yet show this Table, contact me and your Local Webminister or Seneschal and I’ll help you get that added.
4) Round Table Reminders
We are a month and a half away from Round Table, and I will be coordinating the tech behind the scenes. However, I’m always looking for folks who want to try out the job of Tech Lead! Being Tech Lead for Round Table is a time-boxed job and means doing the up-front config for the conference, being available and in touch w/ the class coordinator, and coordinating volunteers before and during the event. I can help with all of that and would happily mentor anyone who is interested.

Kingdom A&S Static and Performance entries are due at No Later Than the Wednesday before the event –
– September 10th by midnight (or before Magistra Bia wakes up on the 11th) –
Sign up via the links on the Kingdom Arts & Sciences Webpage, and please email your documentation to kingdom@moas.ansteorra.org or let them know if you need assistance or need an exception to the dates.
You can still sign up for the display, competition, or move an entry to the display up until the Wednesday the 10th of September.

Announcing Kingdom A&S Changes…
Greetings Ansteorra, The new judging sheets still need additional changes and approvals to be rolled out to the four kingdoms. We do not feel confident about testing them at this time. We will be continuing with the standard Ansteorra judging sheets that are posted at Kingdom or Interkingdom Arts & Sciences – Ansteorra Arts and Sciences. We will be using the 50 point scale not the 30 point scale.
Due to this change, we will be extending the submission deadline for Static and Performance to Midnight September 9th, the Tuesday before the competition. We will just need a short writeup on the entry and a copy of your works cited. We do still need signup by the 31st of August, 2025 to ensure table arrangements. The link is https://forms.gle/ChdzVoA78pkMvbou9 . Research Papers and Experimental Archaeology papers will still be due the 31st of August, the usual two weeks before the competition. Summer Crown List Registration 2025
We would like to invite everyone to our summer crown tournament to be held June 7th, 2025. All entrances must send a letter of intent to TRM@crown.ansteorra.org and fill out the registration form
Crown format: The initial fights will be round robin format with 4 pools of fighters. All pools will be chosen at random by the fighters during the procession. These fights will be a single point, bring your best. The top 2 of each pool will advance to the next round.
The Round of 8 fighters will be random pairings, best 2 of 3 with the weapon style being a bastard sword between 4 and 5 feet in length. Butt spikes and thrusting tips are allowed.
The Round of 4 fighters will be random pairings, best 2 of 3 with the weapon style being a glaive between 6 and 7.5 feet in length. Butt spikes and thrusting tips are allowed.
For these rounds side arms will be prohibited.
The finals will be best 3 of 5 and fighters choice.

It has been our fondest wish to be Crown again at Gulf Wars. To see our kingdom shine on the fields of combat, the halls of artistry, and the fellowship of camps. We are delighted to say that you delivered!
What a truly glorious war. Ansteorra outserved, outfought, and out-everythinged any other kingdom there. While it’s true that a few war points might not have gone our way, the might of Ansteorra, with the strength of her allies, carried us through to a resounding tie (victory!). We are so proud.

We are very proud that our kingdom Worked so hard, Recruited so well, and Fought so vigorously.
We are proud that our kingdom was Hospitable; hosting activities in our Grand Tent every evening, and gracing many with s’mores, games, tacos, and cookies.
We are proud of our Artisans, who spent hours and hours working on their arts, and refining their displays and entrants.
We are proud of our Missileers, who created new championship tournaments out of nothing. They made fast, fun, and exciting competitions to test the mettle of champions in their area. The attending Royals were entertained and attentive throughout!
We are proud of our Combatants, who fought through heat and fatigue to secure many war points for their kingdom.
We are proud of all of you, and so phenomenally grateful that we got to go along with each of you on this wonderful Gulf Wars XXXIII.

AMP Integration with Gulf War Check in App
Ansteorra Management Portal is going to make Marshals Point even easier to get through with an integration that will allow Gulf Wars tablet app to look up member authorizations.
As privacy is a constant concern the feature is extremely limited to only allowing the Gulf War app to lookup a list of current authorizations based on a members AMP email address from now till 1 week after Gulf War (at which point the integration will be disabled).
We also want you to have the choice to share or not to share. So if you do not want Gulf War to be able to find your authorizations (which will mean you will need to take your authorization card to Marshals Point) then you can Opt out by turning off the integration for your account using the switch added to the Authorizations Tab on your AMP profile.

- Gulf Wars App can make an API call (computer to computer) with an authorization token that is only known by the Gulf Wars App team and a single members AMP email address. If the member is located and they have not turned off sharing then the above data is shared and nothing else

Gulf Wars Muster
Greetings Ansteorra,
As I hope many are aware, opening ceremonies at Gulf Wars have been moved up to Sunday this year, in an attempt to have the war activities start after opening ceremonies, as opposed to two days subsequent. The change, while having many upsides, also has a few downsides; one being that we will not be doing a mounted procession from the stables.
Instead, we are going to do a walking procession starting from the Ansteorran gates, down towards the battlefield and the castle, and into the start of the Ceremonies. We would like to invite the entire kingdom to join us, and walk with your local group to the field. Bring your banners, your drums, and your high spirits as we open the best, and friendliest, war in the Known World.
We will muster at Noon on Sunday at the Ansteorran gates and begin our march to the castle at 12:40pm. Please join us for a wonderful start to Gulf Wars!

Gulf Wars Muster Form: Fill it out Today!
Ansteorra Muster for Gulf Wars!
As mentioned in the State of the Kingdom meeting at Round Table on Saturday, the Crown has set up a Gulf Wars Muster form. This is to collect information about those going to Gulf Wars to help several aspects of Ansteorra at Gulf Wars: camping in Ansteorra, planning for martial activities, and giving of gifts!
This muster should be completed *after* you have pre-registered for Gulf Wars. If you have not pre-registered yet, and plan on attending, please go to https://gulfwars.org/registration/ and pre-register for war. Pre-registered attendees is how land is allotted to each group for camping space, so it is important that you pre-register if you are able.
The Crown is pleased to provide every Ansteorran who attends Gulf Wars a gift of appreciation for making the journey and spending your valuable time with us. We have initiated a kingdom-wide project to make Ansteorran coifs for every person from Ansteorra at Gulf War. If you pre-register for war, *and* complete this muster form before March 1, your coif will have your name on it. There will be 500 or so others, so you will want your name on yours!
