Chivalric Activities:

The Sable Shield tournament was started as a way for Veterans in the SCA to help other Veterans and service members. All proceeds are donated directly to the charity selected for each branch. Each Sable Shield member may sponsor one fighter for chivalric, rapier, and archery. Each entrant puts a donation into the overall competition. They may also choose the branch they want their donation to go to whether it is Army, Navy, Marine, Air force, Coast Guard, or Reserve. The winning fighter chooses their charity to get the Tourney winnings, but the money put in each Branch is donated directly to a charity that supports members and families of that branch. This way, more support is evenly spread to all branches of the Military and their families. The list of charities that the proceeds from the Sable Shield Tourney will go to: Army Emergency Relief Air Force Enlisted Village Marine Corp Scholarship Fund SEALs Scholarship Fund Coast Guard Emergency Relief The Tourneys will run simultaneously from 3-5 pm on Saturday, November 23rd. Please email if you have any questions or would like to pre-register for the Tourney. In service, HL Marie de Meaux Download Chivalric Scenarios for War of the Rams VIII

“Tournament of Youth” or Children’s Champion

The Tournament of the Youth is split into 2 sections, Rapier And Chivalric. Children will make favors and bestow them on adult fighters who will fight for them. It is focused on around the lunch hour so that fighters who want to participate can and still have time for melees.
This year the winning fighters will be recognized in court along with the children they fought for. The winning fighter will present a wooden sword or dagger to the child.
