The table is set, the tea is poured, and Their Excellencies eagerly awaits your most curious creations!”

Join us in the garden for an Arts & Sciences competition inspired by the whimsy, chaos, elegance, and delightful absurdity of a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. From fine garb and fanciful hats to period-inspired treats, tea accoutrements, scrolls, woodworking, pottery, embroidery, and wonderfully peculiar inventions — we invite artisans of every kind to bring their creativity to the table.

Elegant? Absurd? Historically inspired with a touch of madness? Perfect!

After all… “The best ideas are usually the ones poured a little sideways.”

*Please note* – Their Excellencies have requested all those wishing to enter this competition, whether to win or just showcase their skills, complete the following form prior to the event:

Armored Championship Tournament
“In the Looking-Glass, every ending is simply another beginning.” – Step through the mirror, where every reflection is another foe to overcome!

All fighters begin in a single line. The warriors at each end step forward to fight. The victor remains in the Looking-Glass to face the next challenger, while the defeated traveler returns to the end of the line to begin their journey anew.

After each victory, loudly proclaim your assigned number so the Herald may record every triumph and each growing streak.

When the mirror finally grows still (after 30 minutes), the warrior with the most victories will be named the winner of the tournament.

Note: His Excellency reserves the right to pick his champion on the merit of all fighters and name them Bonwicke’s Banner Bearer.

Armored Melees
“Will you fight for White or Red? ♠️❤️” (Timed Resurrection Scenario)
1.) Obtain supplies from the White Baroness’ army- A small force of skilled fighters, archers, and siege engines, will defend against the masses as they try to take boxes of supplies the White Baroness’ army is guarding. It will be a 20 min timed battle where the win condition is whichever side has more than half the supplies by the end of the battle. Timed res scenario

“Cheshire Cat’s Lament – Let’s Get a Little Chaos Going😸😻 (Unlimited Resurrection Scenario)
2.) Everyone will split into teams of two and as fighters die they will form a new two man team with the next person waiting at the resurrection point. The win condition is a team of two (where both players are still alive) holding the capture point for 30 seconds. With alternate points that, if captured bestow boons based on the Geas tournament (where fighters can only die by being struck in a specific hit location). Note: Siege will only be allowed to target combatants near the capture locations.

“The Hatter’s Chair – Find a Seat at the Tea Party🎩☕️” (Unlimited Resurrection Scenario)
3.) A 30 minute battle where two teams will square off in an open field battle to capture the “Hatter’s Chair”. Every five minutes, the team in primary possession of the “Hatter’s Chair” will have the chair move ten feet closer to their base. Siege can only target combatants around the “Hatter’s Chair” once it has been moved away from the center. Victory condition will be the team with the chair closest to their base at the end of the time, or one team that successfully gets the chair back to their base.

Rapier Championship Tournament
Hear ye! Hear ye! By decree of the White Baroness, all challengers seeking the title of the “Brawler of Bonwicke”, Bonwicke’s Rapier Champion, shall journey Down the Rabbit Hole!

Armed with wit, steel, and a pair of bunny ears, combatants will enter a Crest Rabbit Pit where the winner holds the field until their crest is struck away. Lose your ears, return through the looking glass, restore them, and rejoin the queue to challenge again. Twenty-five minutes of delightful madness await, with a brief pause after ten minutes before the chase begins anew.

Will you keep your ears… or hear the Baroness cry, “Off with their crest!”?🐇♠️♥️

Rapier Melees
“The Mad Tea Party” – Last Man Standing
The Hatter’s tea has been flowing far too freely, and no one can quite remember which side they were fighting for. As the battle rages, reality becomes delightfully nonsensical. Every two minutes, at the marshal’s signal, all combatants will immediately freeze while a new decree is announced. Fighters may suddenly find themselves required to fight left-handed, forgo the use of your legs, change opponents, or even discover that the last person they struck down is now their ally. With loyalties shifting and the rules constantly changing, adaptability, quick thinking, and a healthy dose of madness will be the keys to surviving this most peculiar tea party.

“The Trial of the Knave” – Resurrection Scenario
The Knave stands accused of stealing the Baroness’ treasured tarts and must now face judgment. One fighter will be designated as the Knave while the opposing armies take their sides. One team is charged with capturing and arresting the Knave, while the other must protect and escort the accused to freedom. Until freed by their allies, the Knave may not take part in combat. If the Knave is successfully escorted safely off the field, they are declared Innocent! However, if they are captured before escaping, the Baroness’ verdict stands, and they are proclaimed Guilty!

“The Flowers Fight Back” – Timed Resurrection To Last Man Standing
The gardens of Wonderland have come alive, and their enchanted blossoms hold powerful magic. The battlefield will be scattered with flowers, and each granting a unique boost to the team that claims it:
🌹 Rose, Extra life
🌼 Daisy, Opponent Loses a Leg
🌷 Tulip, Immediate Resurrections
🌸 Lily, Remove Enemy Extra Life

🎶📖 Hear Ye! A Call to the Bardic Circle! 📖🎶

Stories have a way of changing as they are told, songs linger long after the last note has faded, and laughter shared around a gathering can become a memory that lasts a lifetime.

We invite all bards, storytellers, musicians, poets, singers, and performers to join us for our Wonderland-themed Bardic Competition! Whether you choose to inspire, amuse, or leave us delightfully puzzled, we look forward to celebrating the many talents of our populace.

Will your story make us laugh? Will your song stir our hearts? Will your tale leave us wondering what was real?

We can’t wait to find out and we hope you’ll join us and share your talents!

Championship Format:
1.) The Glass Bottle: The bottle labeled “Drink Me” makes Alice smaller than a mouse.
For this round, all pieces must be less than 60 seconds in length.

2.) The Cake: The cake labeled “Eat Me” makes Alice grow larger than a house.
For this round, all pieces must be at least 3 minutes long.

3.) Curiouser and Curiouser: Be prepared for an optional final round at their excellencies’ discretion, and bring your best! Entrants are encouraged to bring pieces they find underrated or that stir the curiosity!

“Believe six impossible things before breakfast—then take up your weapon and make the seventh possible.”

🤍 The White Baroness has issued a most peculiar challenge for the warriors of War of Legends! Test your skill with knives, axes, and javelins in a series of challenges inspired by the strange and dangerous Barony of Bonwicke through this looking glass. ♠️

1.) 🃏 The Baroness’s Card Challenge — Knives & Axes
The Baroness’s cards have escaped their places and scattered across the throwing range! Different cards will be placed at different distances, with greater rewards for those brave—or mad—enough to throw farther. Hit a card, and you may keep your trophy from the Baroness’s deck! A hole punch will be available for anyone who wishes to turn their collected cards into a record of their victories.

Closest Distance — Aces through 10s:
Hit the target: 2 points
Strike a card: 4 points

Middle Distance — Jacks and Kings:
Hit the target: 3 points
Strike a card: 6 points

Farthest Distance — Queens:
Hit the target: 5 points
Strike a Queen: 10 points

2.) 🐉 Beware the Jabberwock! — Javelins
“One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!”

The Jabberwocky itself has wandered onto the field, and it must be stopped!
A picture of the beast will be mounted within a marked target area.

Land your javelin within the marked ring: 3 points

Strike the Jabberwocky itself: 5 points
“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?”
“O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”

3.)🌹 Paint the Roses Red!
The Baroness’s of Heaets roses are not red enough, and we all know what happens when the Baroness discovers such a mistake!
Using our peg target or hanging target, water balloons filled with red-colored water will be placed above paper roses. Competitors must throw and burst as many balloons as possible to paint the roses red!
The more roses you paint, the more pleased Her Excellency may be… though she is difficult to please.❤️

4.) 👑 Open Throwing & the Champion’s Challenge
Thrown weapons activities will be available for participants to enjoy throughout the event, as space and range rules allow. You are welcome to throw for fun, test your skill, and collect cards from the Baroness’s deck.
However, those who wish to compete for the title of Bonwicke Bowler, may have their scores officially tracked. A scoreboard will be available throughout the event for competitors to record their points and see who is rising through the ranks.

So take aim, throw true, and remember: The Baroness’s demands perfection. The Jabberwock demands bravery. And the roses must be painted red!

Are you skilled enough—or mad enough—to become Champion? 🪓🎯☠️

Archers of Ansteorra, Hear ye! Hear ye!

By decree of the White Baroness, all archers seeking the honor of becoming the Bonwicke Archery Champion are summoned to journey down the rabbit hole where nothing is quite as it seems: Strange creatures roam the woods, enchanted playing cards march at the command of the Red Baroness, and even the teacups refuse to stay upon the table!

Six (if time allows) peculiar challenges await those brave enough to test their skill, so keep your bow steady and your arrows true so that perhaps – just perhaps – you shall escape Wonderland with your head still upon your shoulders!

1.) 🐇 The White Rabbit is Late!“Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!”
The White Rabbit refuses to stand still for anyone. As he races across Wonderland, archers must carefully time their shots to strike the elusive rabbit while he dashes along his path. Patience, timing, and a steady hand will be required to catch the quickest creature in the realm.

2.) 🎩 The Mad Hatter’s Hat“It’s always tea time!”
The Mad Hatter has misplaced his magnificent hat, complete with a curious collection of playing cards. Archers may choose to challenge the hat itself or pick away at the cards perched upon it. Will you aim for the larger prize, or trust your precision against the smaller targets?

3.) ☕ Clear the Tea Table“No room! No room!”
The Mad Tea Party has become entirely too crowded, and someone must restore a bit of order before teatime can continue. Cups, saucers, and even the doily stand waiting to be swept from the table with well-placed arrows.

4.) ♥️ Stop the Red Baroness’s Soldiers!“Off with their heads!”
The Red Baroness has ordered her loyal card soldiers to seize control of Wonderland. Before they can carry out her commands, archers must strike down the royal guard and halt their advance. Fail to stop them, and the Red Baroness’s dreadful decree may be the last thing you hear!

5.) ♠️ The Wonderland Deck“Who… are… you?”
The enchanted deck has scattered throughout Wonderland! Cheshire Cats grin from impossible places, Knaves hide among the cards, Mad Hatters appear unexpectedly, Queens of Hearts watch your every move. Every card presents a different challenge, rewarding both careful aim and sharp eyes.

6.) 🦩 The Red Baroness’s Croquet Grounds“Would you care for a game?”
Ordinary croquet has no place in Wonderland. Using only your arrows, guide the enchanted ball through the Red Baroness’s wickets. A solid strike earns points, but true mastery lies in sending the ball cleanly through the hoop – and perhaps even striking the peg. Impress the Red Baroness with your skill… or risk hearing her famous command: “Off with your head!!!”

So take up your bow, good archers, and venture into Wonderland. Whether you return with honor, glory, or even just thy head still attached shall depend upon the favor of the White Baroness… and the mercy of the Red Baroness.

(Tournament Notice: As with all adventures through Wonderland, the path may twist and change. Depending upon the number of participants and the time available, one or more challenges may be shortened, combined, or removed to ensure all archers have the opportunity to test their skill and enjoy the journey.)

Some people are excellent at throwing a single weapon, some are excellent at many. Some are excellent at distance, some at accuracy. One way to show the world our kingdom’s excellence is to post our best Thrown Weapons Interkingdom Competition (TWIC) scores on the TWIC board for all in the known world to see!

While a tournament shows our excellence, we also all come from far away so we can have fun so this tournament will be in two parts:

1.) TWIC Score For Your Best Weapon
The thrown weapons range will open at 9:00am. TWIC targets for knife, axe, and spear will be available for 2 hours. Marshals will be present to call the line and take down your scores. You can do as many rounds, as many weapons as there is time for, making sure that everyone who wants to try can at least complete one full TWIC round of the same weapon at three ranges. Your highest two rounds with any weapon will be recorded for the day on the interkingdom board.
(If you are competing for the championship, you will be given precedence during these 2 hours. After the tourney, anyone can play.)

2.) Fun Tournament With All The Weapons
The fun tournament starts at 11:00 AM (pending schedule changes) where there will be challenges of accuracy with knives and axes, as well as challenges with sling, plumbata, and spears for distance. Further, if you don’t have a TWIC score with any weapon recorded yet for the morning, you will have one last chance to earn a TWIC score for only ONE weapon of your choice.

In the end, your best TWIC score for the morning will be added to your tournament score, which will determine the Kingdom Champion, who will represent thrown weapons Ansteorran Excellence by guarding our crown for a year.

I encourage you, even after the tournament, even into Sunday, to do as many extra TWIC rounds as possible. After the tournament, they won’t count for the championship, but the more we get on the interkingdom board, the more we show our excellence to the rest of the known world!

Every person who earns at least one TWIC score at any point in the weekend will receive a small prize to wear, to show your skill to all!
