Baronial Artisan Competition Rules

  • One item created within the last year
  • Maximum documentation length 3 pages including photos, cover sheet is optional.
  •  If you are competing for Baronial Artisan please send an email to fairbournerichard@gmail,com with your SCA name and modern name and that you wish to compete for Bonwicke Baronial Artisan. All judging of your single entry will be online either have a camera ready to show you entry or create a number of pictures to show your entry to the judges. Once an email is recieved you will be contacted and given a time slot for your entry to be looked at by the judges.

Round 1: A story, dramatic reading, or spoken word poem.

Round 2: An original piece in whatever performance style you choose

.Round 3: You have to participate in a Flyt against me. This is ostensibly a Scandinavian Rap Battle, which dates all the way back to before the Viking Age.

Essentially, I will speak a line. You will then speak a line which meets the meaning, matches rhythm, and turns my line against me. You can be “mean or rude” as this was just a friendly way to pass the time

.An example: Me – I’m the terror of Eastmen, a wolf of pure white.You – That’s all well and good, but you surely can’t Flyt.Each candidate will do 3 lines against me.
