Proposed Award Constitution Revision – Sable Crane

Their Majesties seek feedback from the populace of Ansteorra regarding a change to the Sable Crane award constitution.

All commentary must be sent to trm@crown.ansteorra.org by July 12th 2024.

Description of change

Add a category of service and allow the Sable Crane award to be given multiple times.

Reasoning

The Sable Crane is the only broadly applicable AOA level award that does not provide categories of service and cannot be given more than once. The arts (Thistle) and martial (Talon) awards recognize the breadth of possible achievement in those disciplines and may be earned by the same individual more than once for different areas of accomplishment.

Example of potential arts and martial accomplishments:

As it currently stands, there is no way to recognize achievement at an AOA level in multiple service areas. This often makes for a long lag time in recognition from AOA to Grant achievement. And it makes it difficult to assess readiness for a grant award by reviewing the OP.

Example of proposed usage:

This change is relatively easy to accomplish, needing an update to the award constitution and the charter blanks, but no change to Kingdom Law.

We do meet all the requirements for assuming the Coronet, as set forth in the Laws of Vindheim and the Kingdom of Ansteorra. I swear for myself and my consort that should we win the Coronet Tournament of Vindheim, we will rule justly and to the utmost of our abilities. Sparing no effort to fulfill the duties as Coronet of Vindheim. All things I do swear by my honor. <State your name>
