Directions:
From I-10 take exit 610 to Bypass 123. Head South (into Seguin). Go 2.5 miles and turn Left onto RM466 (Eastwood Dr). Go 2 miles and turn Right onto GBRA Access Road. Follow SCA signs to the site.
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. They may also attend with a 21-year-old or older adult with a signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver from the parents.
The site is wet in period containers. Service Animals and well-behaved leashed pets are welcome

Skaldic Championship
Odin has summoned his skalds to tell the sagas of old and to record the story of Ragnarök, about death… and Life that comes after. Current Champion Lairde Hextilda Corbett knows all about life and death, having walked on both sides of the veil since their birth. They have faced down fire-breathing dragons, been frozen by the ice giants, and chased by Jörmungandr. Skalds are invited to tell tales of life and death, whether their own or someone else’s. Can your words keep Jörmungandr from releasing his tail and beginning Ragnarök? Hex is very VERY eager to find out.
For this fall Skaldic championship Prepare a piece about life and/or death. No documentation required. It does not need to be original.
Archery Championship
Odin has asked his archers to help cull the wolves in Midgard so they cannot join Fenris in the battle of Ragnarok. Archers will shoot at targets drawn to look like wolves to grant this request. (an exact point structure to be determined later by the current champion)
Chivalric Championship
Odin has raised his Einherjar to prepare for the final battle against Loki and his Children. Fighters should prepare themselves for multiple rounds of fighting with various weapons. Odin will select from among them a champion to lead his army.
Tourney Format will be Snowball Format with more details to come.
Ansteorran Royal Bard Championship
The Ansteorran Royal Bard is charged with reaching the hearts of the populace and inspiring the Kingdom through the spoken word, music, and performance. This competition seeks performers who can stir laughter and tears, foster pride and camaraderie, and give voice to the ideals, deeds, and dreams of Ansteorra. Whether through a rousing song, a quiet poem, or a tale of heroism well told, entrants are encouraged to move their audience and bring the Kingdom together through art.
General Competition Guidelines
- The competition consists of three rounds.
- Competitors must demonstrate at least two different performance styles across the three rounds. Examples include (but are not limited to):
- Song (vocal with or without accompaniment)
- Story or spoken tale
- Poem or recitation
- Instrumental performance
- Dramatic monologue or similar performative art
- Documentation is required for Round One and welcome for all rounds.
- Judges will consider not only technical skill and authenticity, but also the performer’s ability to engage, inspire, and connect with the audience.
- Performances should be limited to 5 minutes each
- Round One: Roots of the Past
- Competitors will present a piece that is either:
- A documented work from before the 17th century, or
- An original work created in the style of a pre-17th century piece.
- Brief written documentation explaining the historical source, inspiration, or stylistic elements.
Round Two: Voice of Ansteorra
Competitors will present a performance inspired by Ansteorra. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Songs or poems celebrating the Kingdom or its regions
- Stories of Ansteorran heroes (historical or legendary)
- Performances inspired by the Kingdom’s values, trials, triumphs, and camaraderie
- Works that reflect the lived experience of the populace
Original works are welcome, but not required. This round should clearly reflect love of our kingdom and a sense of shared identity.
Round Three: Bring Your Best, and Inspire Us
In this final round, competitors will present the performance they feel would best represent them as the Ansteorran Royal Bard. This may be used as a tie breaker / finalist round. This is your moment to shine, captivate, uplift, and inspire the Crown and populace alike. Whether it is joyful, solemn, stirring, or intimate, this piece should:
- Showcase your strongest skills
- Reflect your artistic voice
- Leave a lasting impression on the hearts of those who hear it

C&T Tournament of the Field of Mars
The Tournament of the Field of Mars is intended to provide lots of C&T fighting in the framework of a period-style tournament.
Each Deed will focus on the same sword style.
First Deed: (11 am) – Longsword
Combatants must be authorized in 2-Handed C&T, with appropriate hand protection. Limited loaner gear will be available.
Second Deed: (1:30pm) – Sabers, Messers, and Dussacks
Blades 36” and under. No secondaries.
Third Deed: (3:30pm) – Sword and Buckler
Blades 36” and under. Buckler maximum diameter 18” at any point.
The Rules:
- Everyone fights everyone else three passes (not two out of three). Marshal your friends as you can.
- When you’re done, come tell HL Rede Letherseller who you feel should be acclaimed the victor of the day. Use whatever criteria you wish – best fighter, best clothes, most excited, most fun, best death, etc.
- At the end of each deed, a winner will be determined by the combatants and acclaimed by Rede and will receive a bit of largesse. Word-fame is strongly encouraged.
Arts and Sciences Classes
Oden is a seeker of Knowledge and is always hunting for more information about the world around him and how things within this world are created. As such Huginn has searched far and wide on Odins behalf seeking teachers, he has asked those amongst his hall with knowledge to come teach Odin and his comrades their craft.
