Local Guilds

What is a guild?

A “guild” is a collection of persons with similar interests. Guild activities are not considered “official” gatherings of the SCA, and the content on their Facebook groups does not represent the organization as a whole.

Bjornsborg is home to a variety of guilds which mostly communicate on their respective Facebook groups (below).

Bjornsborg Early Music Ensemble (BEME):

Bjornsborg Early Music Ensemble – For people who are in or are interested in joining the Barony of Bjornsborg’s period music performance ensemble. Singers and instrumentalists welcome!

Blacksmithing Guild:

The Barony of Bjornsborg Blacksmithing Guild exists for the purpose of encouraging the study, teaching and practices of Medieval Blacksmithing, metalworking, casting, and smelting as well as study of Medieval Blacksmithing practices, in the Barony of Bjornsborg.

The Bjornsborg Blacksmithing Guild should serve as a conduit for blacksmiths and other types of metalworkers in the Barony of Bjornsborg to communicate with and learn from each other and to freely share our love and knowledge about how Medieval metal was worked.

Fiber Arts Guild:

This guild focuses on the construction of period clothing. The guild seeks to assist with the research and creation of fiber arts.

Herbalism & Apothecary Guild:

The Barony of Bjornsborg Herbalism & Apothecary Guild, also known as The Herbalists’ Guild, exists for the purpose of encouraging the study, teaching and practices of Medieval herb uses, as well as study of Medieval apothecary and pharmacy practices, in the Barony of Bjornsborg.

The Herbalism and Apothecary Guild should serve as a conduit for herbalists & apothecaries in the Barony of Bjornsborg to communicate with and learn from each other and to freely share our love and knowledge about Medieval medicine.

Scribal Guild:

The Barony of Bjornsborg’s Scribes meet in eachother’s homes to create scrolls, paint charters, and perform / practice other scribal arts.
