Who We are and What We Do

Ansteorra has a Kingdom Minister of Arts & Sciences with deputies to assist with the administration of local activities.  There are also deputies promote some of the larger interest groups within arts and sciences and art guilds run by artisans in the kingdom.  Please go to Guilds and Interest Groups for information on active Ansteorra wide guilds.

Kingdom Deputy Ministers

Bardic and Performance Arts

The Performing Arts deputy is responsible for promoting all bardic arts in the Kingdom. For more information see Bardic or contact the deputy HL Rosa de Armanno, OIM

European Dance

The Dance deputy is responsible for promoting European group dancing in the Kingdom.  For more information see Dance or contact deputy Mistress Myfanwy Ferch Eifion, OP.

Historical Combat

The historical combat deputy is responsible for promoting the research of combat and combat related arts in period.  For information on learning practical SCA combat techniques and forms see Martial Activities  and choose your combat interest.  For more information in combat related Arts & Sciences see Historical Combat or contact deputy Don Martin Malone, OL

Historical Equestrian

Historical Equestrian is the study of medieval horsemanship and animal husbandry as it applies to equine. This area includes historical riding and spear games, the use of horses in period, and dressage. For more information see Historical Equestrian or contact the Kingdom A&S Minister.

Middle Eastern and Non-European Cultures

The ME Cultures deputy is responsible for promoting the Dance, Music, Arts and Sciences of the Middle East in the Kingdom. For more information see Middle Eastern and Non-European Cultures or contact deputy HL Simha Bint Yusuf, OIM

Music

The Music deputy is responsible for promoting European music ensembles for dance balls and court music in the Kingdom. For more information see  Music or contact deputy Lord Robin de Chantenay (Carrot)

Regional Arts & Sciences Ministers

Regional Arts and Sciences Ministers assist local ministers in promoting arts in their area.  The Regional Report is due quarterly no later than the 10th of the month.
